NATCHEZ — Services for Gay Sullivan, 71, the “Fruit Stand Lady,” who died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Julius Roberts officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sullivan was born Oct. 10, 1939, in Springhill, La., the daughter of Willie Fern Toney and Virgie Black Toney. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was owner and operator of Gay’s Fruit Stand for more than 48 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Willie F. Toney and James B. Toney; and one sister, Joy Wright.
Survivors include her husband, Charles R. “Sonny” Sullivan; one daughter, Jan Shell and husband, David, of Roxie; one son, Charles R. “Chip” Sullivan Jr. and wife, Velma, of Brookhaven; three grandsons, Travis Garner and Chance Garner, both of Roxie, and Landon Partridge of Brookhaven; one granddaughter, Brandi Sullivan of Brookhaven; one great-granddaughter, Brianna Garner of Roxie; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and special friend, Sue Sullivan of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Pallbearers will be David Shell, Willie Garner, Brantly Sullivan, Ty Sullivan, James Sullivan and Simon Sullivan.
