Garden Club’s work brightens area

Recently, phase I of the park area located on the Vidalia riverfront was completed.
This phase included a gazebo and surrounding brick area with benches. The Vidalia Garden Club was asked to take on the challenge of landscaping design and implementation.
More than willing to help, the Community Facelift Committee took on this project. To add color for the season, the ladies planted a variety of mums and also selected planters for the bench area surrounding the gazebo. In the spring, plants and shrubs will replace the mums for long-term landscaping.
On behalf of the Vidalia riverfront and the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center, I want to personally thank Mrs. Dolly Smith, chairman of the Community Facelift Committee and members Katherine Calhoun, Cherry Moon and Peggy Murray. Their continuing contribution to the beautification of the Vidalia riverfront and the City of Vidalia is deeply appreciated.
