We want your family recipes at NAPAC

Let’s take a look back. Do you have fond memories of alluring aromas coming from the kitchen? Does the mere thought of that baked macaroni and fried chicken still make your mouth water? What about grandma’s baked goods? What about those tea cakes, cobblers and that special something that was prepared for Sunday after church?
Do you remember?
Over the years, elements of our culture have begun to change. We no longer bake; we buy from the supermarket. Grandma’s recipes are no longer being passed down and shared.
The Natchez Association for the Preservation of African American History and Culture requests your help in keeping our culture alive for future generations.
We will be collecting family recipes and photographs to be included in our soon to be published cookbook, “Just like Grandma used to Make (or you wish she had).”
Based upon your response, we will attempt to have the book ready for distribution in time for the 2011 Black History Month in February. The sales will be a fundraiser for the museum.
Imagine having your favorite family recipes along with an image of “Big Mama” in print for the world to see. For more information call NAPAC at 601-445-0728 or mail your recipe to NAPAC Cookbook, P.O. Box No. 1844, Natchez, MS, 39121.The success of this project will depend on you.
