VIDALIA — Services for Rodney Ray Freeman, 78, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at his residence, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Bro. Jerald Williams and Floyd Wilkinson officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Freeman was born May 22, 1932, in Smithdale, the son of Denver Ray and Ollie Gladis Gill Freeman. Mr. Freeman was secretary/treasurer of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church. He was a member of Steamboat Sams and WBCCI Airstream Camping Club. He served as a supervisory committee member of the Old South Federal Credit Union in Natchez.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joan Freeman Seymour.
Survivors include his wife, Dora Faye Lawrence Freeman; one daughter, Shicle Dianne Freeman of Bingham Farms, Mich.; one son, Jeffery Glenn Freeman of Central, La.; one grandson, Andrew Jason Freeman of New Orleans; one granddaughter, Emily Michelle Freeman; and one daughter-in-law, Susan Cox Freeman, both of Central, La.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Freeman, Bob Bartlett, David McCoy, Scott Crain, William Earl Wilkerson and Wayne Crain.
