Block, Ferriday take big wins while Vikings fall

JONESVILLE, La. — The Block Bears took care of the Montgomery Tigers 38-16 Friday night at homecoming in a big LHSAA District 3-1A game for both teams.

Block improved to 6-2 overall and 2-1 in district play while Montgomery dropped to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in district play. Block hosts LaSalle at 7 p.m. Friday.

Lake Providence 8

LAKE PROVIDENCE, La. — The Ferriday Trojans had little problem defeating the Lake Providence Panthers Friday night to improve to 5-3 overall and 3-0 in LHSAA District 2-2A. Ferriday hosts Sterlington at 7 p.m. Friday.

Bunkie 42, Vidalia 0

BUNKIE, La. — The tough season for the Vidalia Vikings and first-year head coach Gary Parnham continued Friday night with a shutout loss to the Bunkie Panthers in LHSAA District 3-3A action. Vidalia fell to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in district play and hosts Marksville at 7 p.m. Friday.
