NATCHEZ — Services for Nellie Ruth Rainer Galloway, 86, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Brewer officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Galloway was born Feb. 21, 1924, in Union, the daughter of Charles Allen and Nellie Lavada Smith Rainer. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.

Mrs. Galloway was a housewife active in the Home Extension Club, Natchez Arts Club, a seamstress for the Natchez Pilgrimage and worked with local interior decorators.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Herman Rainer, Hubert Rainer and Fred Rainer; and two sisters, Etoile Sharp and Artie Mae Glenn.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas M. Galloway; one son, Murphy Galloway and wife, Annette; two daughters, Jo Ann Bonner and husband, Eddie, and Betty Jean Galloway; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jerlene Stone.

Pallbearers will be Paul Arnold, C.B. Jones, Doug Galloway, Michael Hubbard, Eddie Bonner and Estes Porter.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
