Black bears to be topic to lunch time lecture at HJC

Natchez — Historic Jefferson College in Washington will offer a free presentation at noon on Thursday,. Nov. 4 titled “Black Bears in Mississippi.”

Brad Young, black bear program leader for the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, will give the presentation that looks at the past, present and possible future of black bears in our state.

Young conducts research and educates the people of Mississippi about the state’s largest mammal. Another primary objective of his program is the prevention of conflicts between bears and people

This lunchtime lecture is free of charge and attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch.
