NATCHEZ — Elizabeth Aldrich Horne, of Bonita, died Oct. 3, 2010, in Meridian, following a short illness.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at the Natchez City Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of James F. Webb Funeral Home in Meridian.

Mrs. Horne was preceded in death by her husband, the Rep. Tommy A. Horne, to whom she was married for 23 years.

Beth is survived by her two sons, C. Warren Franklin and wife, Ginny, of Lonoke, Ark., and W. Bruce Franklin and wife, Donna, of Franklin, Tenn.; her sister, Linda A. Harris of Germantown, Tenn.; and her brother, Lyman D. Aldrich III of Collierville, Tenn.

Born in New York City on Jan. 11, 1935, Mrs. Horne was the daugher of the late Lyman D. Aldrich II and Elizabeth F. Aldrich. Her family spent some years in New York City before moving to Natchez. In 1952, she graduated from Natchez High School, after which she served as a legal secretary for the State Attorney General’s Office and the House of Representatives in Jackson.

Aside from enjoying time spent with her family, nothing brought more delight to Mrs. Horne than her beloved and devoted dogs, Redman, Silky, Sassy and Sweetie Pie. Mindful of her love and faithful care for them, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to CARA (Community Animal Rescue and Adoption, Inc.), 960 N. Flag Road, Jackson, MS 39209.
