NATCHEZ — A pedestrian was struck and killed late Friday night by a passing vehicle.

Tenika Rochelle Combs, 27, 3901 Ridgewood Road, was reportedly crossing Seargent S. Prentiss Drive near McLaurin School at approximately 8:30 p.m. when she was hit.

She was transported to Natchez Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Coroner James Lee said he was called to the hospital at approximately 9:15 p.m. Lee said the victim had severe trauma to her head, chest and abdomen.

The driver of the vehicle, reportedly a man from out of town, was shaken at the scene.
