Halloween spirit part of good news

If you didn’t laugh, smile or shiver at the sight of a costume this week, you didn’t get out enough.
This area knows how to show its Halloween spirit, and with numerous costume-oriented events, the week was a fun one.
Let’s review a few great things from the week.
The annual Chamber of Commerce Gala was a success yet again, providing a fun, inspiring night for many. Thanks to those who make this event possible.
Young Carolyne Heatherly inspired us all by using her enterprising spirit to raise $53.44 for Kyle’s House. Heatherly sold Mardi Gras beads during balloon race weekend and donated her earnings recently.
Copiah-Lincoln Community College combined contests for cooking, costumes and decorating into one Thursday, creating a laugh for students and community members.
The crowd at the annual Broadway Bash Chili Cook Off was large and lively Saturday. We know the chili was good and the cause worthy as well.
The Natchez Downtown Development Association once again hosted Little Feet Trick or Treat for children. The event is an easy, safe way for our youngest community members to enjoy the holiday and the town.
The Black and Blue Civil War re-enactment provided an interesting and educational look history outside the bounds of a textbook.
As we begin November, the busy holiday season is just around the corner. With so many great Christmas in Natchez events planned, we know the next two months will be great.
