Mississippi and Louisiana lifted statewide burn bans Wednesday.
The Mississippi Forestry Commission recommended the state lift its burn ban after increasing rainfall events; however, 17 counties remain under a burn ban.
The burn ban for Adams County expired on Oct. 28.
The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office also lifted a statewide burn ban, citing rainfall amounts high enough to allow for safe burning.
