NATCHEZ — Services for Theresa Davis Lewis, 95, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, in Lancaster, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Birdon Mitchell Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

Mrs. Lewis was born Nov. 1, 1914, in Sibley, the daughter of Isaac Davis and Elizabeth King Davis.

She was an educator for more than 34 years in the Natchez public schools until she retired in 1979.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert Lewis; her parents; and six brothers, Eddie Davis Sr., William Davis, Isaac “Joe” Davis Sr., Hannibal Davis Sr., Louis Davis and Prentiss Davis.

Survivors include one daughter, RaFaye Lewis Nesmith and husband, the Rev. Kevin Nesmith, of Lancaster; one sister-in-law, Henrietta Davis of Columbus, Ohio; one cousin, Marion Davis of Carlsbad, Calif.; and a number of nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends.
