FERRIDAY – Services for Bessie Doris Cockerham Wesberry, 85, of Ferriday, who died Saturday Nov. 6, 2010, in Alexandria, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Cecil Grantham and Rev. Daniel Wesberry officiating.

Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wesberry was born on Jan. 8, 1925, in Little Creek, La., the daughter of Oran and Ruth Cockerham.

Mrs. Wesberry had been a life long resident of Ferriday and a homemaker. She attended Faith Temple Pentecostal Church in Monterey, La.

Mrs. Wesberry was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Segrest S. Wesberry; two daughters, Doris Neal Carlton Punchard and Melba Joyce Carlton Brown; and four grandchildren, Sean Ellis, Kerry D. Ellis, Charles Carlton Jr. and Amanda Carlton.

She is survived by her children, Charles Carlton Sr., of Clayton, Shirley Ruth Barrett, of Ferriday, Marilyn Ann Wesberry Brixey and husband, William, of Ferriday, Vina Sue Wesberry Ellis and husband, Perry, of Ferriday, Tammy Lynn Wesberry Barfoot and husband, Keith, of Monterey, Ronnie C. Wesberry and wife, Beth, of Ferriday, Donnie C. Wesberry and wife, Judy, of Carencro and Rabon R. Wesberry, of Ferriday; one sister, Allier Fitt, of Ferriday; 30 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
