VIDALIA — Vidalia Police are investigating a Wednesday shooting reportedly involving seven men.
Vidalia Police Chief Arthur Lewis said the department received a call at approximately 10:30 p.m. saying shots were fired on the 500 block of South Spruce Street.
Witnesses reported seeing a group of men, but only one, Tyrone Davis, was identified.
Lewis said Davis was driving a vehicle with an unknown passenger, when they stopped at the Rainbow Mini Mart in Vidalia.
Four to five other males came up to the Mini Mart, and an altercation broke out.
Lewis said the incident reportedly ended with the group of five males leaving the store and walking toward residential areas.
Lewis said Davis followed the group, where Davis said his vehicle was fired upon.
After the incident, Davis was arrested for a bench warrant on the charge of aggravated assault with a firearm from an unrelated case.
