NATCHEZ — Services for Janie Rawes Ketteringham Thornton, 75, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Sunday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Clary officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thornton was born July 27, 1935, in Natchez, the daughter of James Benton Ketteringham and Emma Mae Rawes Ketteringham. Mrs. Thornton grew up in the Natchez area and was part owner of C-Clear Glass Company for a number of years. She loved to write and had started her memoirs. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had two special angels, Mae-Mae and Katie, and a special brother-in-law, Bruce, who cared for her in times of need.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mariam K. Smith; two brothers, James B. Ketteringham II and Karl M. Ketteringham; and a granddaughter, Jana Thornton Ballard.

Survivors include four sons, Bobby J. Thornton Jr. and wife, Theresa, Curtis B. Thornton and wife, Sherlene, Dale E. Thornton and Robin D. Thornton, all of Natchez; four grandchildren, Benton Thornton, Trey Thornton, Danielle Thornton and Brad Kyzar; seven great-grandchildren, Shelby Thornton, Samantha Thornton, Kerri Thornton, Bryson Thornton, Chase Kyzar, Kathryn Kyzar and Karley Kyzar; three sisters, Kathleen Curlee and husband, Bruce, of Natchez, Emma Mae Blankenship of Charlotte, N.C. and Carol Ann Robson of Crestview, Fla.; and one brother, Charles Ketteringham and wife, Carol, of Quakerstown, Pa.

Pallbearers will be sons, Bobby Thornton, Curtis Thornton, Dale Thornton and Robin Thornton, Scott Swinny and Charles Ketteringham.

Honorary pallbearer will be Bruce Curlee.
