FERRIDAY — Services for Teddy Donald Mize Sr., 81, of St. Joseph, who died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Foster and the Rev. John Galey officiating.
Burial will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 609 N. E.E. Wallace Blvd., in Ferriday.
Mr. Mize was born Jan. 30, 1929, in Jonesboro, La., the son of John Davy Mize and Netter Ardelia Mize. He was retired and an active member of Maryland Baptist Church in St. Joseph.
Mr. Mize proudly served his country in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clinton Mize and Cecil Mize; and one sister, Ruth Mize.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Peggy M. Mize; one daughter, Gloria Mize Perez and husband, Errol, of Violet, La.; one son, Teddy Donald Mize Jr. and wife, Monica Steele Mize, of Meraux, La.; twin brother, Terry Mize of Vidalia and brothers, R.V. Mize of Vidalia and Winfred Mize of St. Joseph; three sisters, Eulela Franklin and Gettie Watkins, both of St. Joseph, and Edwina Tullos of Newellton, La.; four grandsons, David Mize and wife, Lori, Teddy Mize III and wife, Shelia, Adams P. Mize and wife, Danielle, and Troy Perez and wife, Josefina; one granddaughter, Raina Perez Fridge and husband, E.L.; and four great-grandchildren, Mercedez Mize, Adam D. Mize, Emma Mize and Ethan Fridge.
Pallbearers will be Adam Mize, David Mize, E.L. Fridge, Errol Perez, Teddy Mize III and Troy Perez.
