NATCHEZ — Services for Louis Johnson Jr., of Fayette, who died Wed., Nov. 24, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla., will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. James Fallon, S.S.J. officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

Mr. Johnson was born Sept. 8, 1938, in Natchez, the son of Louis and Johnnie Pearl Johnson.

He was a graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School and Alcorn State University. He was retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg. Mr. Johnson was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Fayette, Knights of Peter Claver and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joe and Elbert Johnson; and a very special dear friend, Mary Louise Washington.

Survivors include three children, Cedric Johnson and wife, Patricia, of Charlotte, N.C., Pamela Palmer and husband, Gregory, of Jacksonville and Clayton Washington; step-daughter, Valarie January of Fayette; three beloved grandchildren, Breyanna Knight of Fla., Cori and Zane Johnson of N.C.; five siblings, Johnetta Mouton, Claudia White and husband, Leroy, of Natchez, the Rev. Carl Johnson and wife, Bobbie, of Fayette, Everline Johnson and Larry Johnson, both of Seattle.
