FERRIDAY — Services for Loraine Pitts Prunty, 83, of Sicily Island, who died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, in Winnsboro, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Cecil Harrington and the Rev. Dwayne Thomas officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Prunty was born Sept. 17, 1927, in Perry, Ark., the daughter of Calvin Otis Pitts and Ocie Ruth Pitts. She was a member of Vidalia Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Prunty was employed by Krize Electronics, managed Curtis Mathis Home Entertainment Center in Brookhaven and owned and operated Lora’s Video in Ferriday and Waterproof.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allie Freeman Prunty Sr.; her parents; two brothers, Carroll Pitts and Ira Pitts; and one grandson, Jerry E. Rush Jr.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Jones of Winnsboro; two sons, Kenny Prunty and wife, Peggy, and Allie Freeman Prunty Jr. and wife, Susan, all of Vidalia; three grandsons, Ashley Prunty and wife, Ashley, Andy Prunty and Alan Prunty, all of Vidalia; three granddaughters, Lora Lynn Evans and husband, Joey, Lisa Michelle Harris and husband, Ernie, and Cassie Prunty Souderes and husband, Bubba; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Knox, Denman Evans, Matt Souderes, Robby Nolan, Skyler Rush and Trey Rush.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Prunty, Andy Prunty, Ashley Prunty, Ernie Harris, George “Bubba” Souderes III and Joseph Evans.
