SEATTLE — Services for Joseph “Joe” Washington, 88, of Seattle, formerly of Natchez, who died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at the Swedish Medical Center, will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at the Emerald City Community Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park in Seattle under the direction of Southwest Mortuary, Inc.
Mr. Washington was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Washington Sr. and Anneliza Clark Washington; his wife, Alberta Christmas Washington; two sons, Willie James “Bear” Williams and Thomas “Tommy” Washington; one grandson, Patrick Henyard; and three brothers, Jessie Washington, James Washington and Archie Washington Jr.
Survivors include eight children, Louis “Skipper” Henyard and wife, Dorothy, Joseph Christmas, Patricia Hunter and husband, Herbert, Linda Claiborne, Rhonda Smith and husband, Charles, and Ray Christmas, all of Seattle, Vinnie Brown of Natchez and Bessie Burns and husband, Leonard, of New Roads, La.; three sisters, Pearl McDuffie of Seattle, Laura Jones and Mary Jane Washington, both of Natchez; 32 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; six sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
