NATCHEZ — Services for Jo Ella Junkin Martin, 82, of Natchez, who died Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Denny Read and the Rev. Noelle H. Read officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Martin was born Aug. 6, 1928, in Natchez, the daughter of David and Evelyn Lawrence Junkin. She attended Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans and Bowling Green University in Bowling Green, Ky. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Ruth Church Circle, Pilgrimage Garden Club, Daughters of the American Revolution-James Foster Chapter and Chi Omega Sorority. She was employed by Miss-Lou Oil Producers as office manager.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jean Junkin Heard.

Survivors include her husband, Francis Martin Jr.; one son, Jerry Junkin and wife, Becky; one daughter, Sissy Allen and husband, Woody, all of Natchez; six grandchildren, Lari Sandel and husband, Lewie, of Madison, David Junkin and wife, Stacey, of Birmingham, Ala., Blythe Roberts, Spencer Allen and Jennie Allen, all of Natchez, and Jordan Falls and husband, Brandon, of Fairhope, Ala.; four great-grandchildren, Ramsey and Mamie Sandel, both of Madison and Brooks and Ella Roberts, both of Natchez; two stepsons, Frank Martin of Natchez and Mike Martin and wife, Rita, of Vidalia; four stepdaughters, Chris Foley and husband, Bill, of Hattiesburg, Emily Eidt and husband, Joe, of Natchez, Cammie Martin of Memphis and Maria Henwood and husband, Jim, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; 10 step-grandchildren, Emily Hall and husband, Matthew, of Hattiesburg, William Foley and Ben Eidt, both of Natchez, Courtland Foley and wife, Laura, and Andrew Martin, all of Baton Rouge, Randy Martin of Grand Caymans, Philip Eidt of Starkville, Molly Martin and Emily Martin, both of Memphis, and Taylor Henwood of Fort Lauderdale; one sister, Patsy Junkin Armstrong and husband, Tom; one brother-in-law, Walter Heard Jr. and wife, Wessye, all of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Allen, George Armstrong, Brandon Falls, Walt Heard, David Junkin, Frank Martin, Mike Martin and Lewie Sandel.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or a charity of choice.
