Natchez — Rod Guajardo has joined the staff of The Natchez Democrat as a winter intern.

While at The Democrat, Guajardo, of Birmingham, Ala., will be photographing and writing for the newpaper.

He is a senior at Auburn University, where he serves as the editor-in-chief of the student newspaper, The Auburn Plainsman.

He previously served as the managing editor and photo editor at the paper.

Guajardo has also been a writing intern at the Rome News-Tribune in Rome, Ga.
