Ruby Rhodes

NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Ruby L. Rhodes, 93, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at Magnolia House, will be at 1 p.m. today at Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Kosciusko with the Rev. Edwin Temple officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rhodes was born May 11, 1917, in Attala County, the daughter of Benjamin and Bessie Braswell Pee. She lived in Columbus for more than 60 years prior to moving to Natchez.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Warren Rhodes.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol R. Smith and husband, Jerry; one grandson, David R. Smith and wife, Ashley, all of Natchez; one granddaughter, Jennifer L. Edmonson and husband, McKie, of Madison; six great-grandchildren, Caroline Smith, Hayden Lindsey, Ryan Lindsey, Kendall Edmonson, Aubrey Edmonson and Coleman Edmonson.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Magnolia House for their love and attention; Dr. Kenneth Stubbs and Dr. Jack Rodriquez for their friendship and care; caregivers, Annie Todd, Mary Sewell; and nurse, Grace Brown of Deaconess Hospice for their compassion.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., or the Natchez Stewpot.
