NATCHEZ — The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to 146 vehicle accidents during the holiday weekend, including 14 in Southwest Mississippi.

Troop M, which covers Adams County and the surrounding counties, responded to no fatalities and no alcohol-related crashes. Eight injuries were reported.

Statewide, there were 48 injuries, one alcohol-related crash and four fatalities between Thursday and Sunday.

Two of the victims in the fatalities were not wearing seat belts.

Troop M made 12 DUI arrests and two drug arrests. Sixteen drivers were cited for seat belt violations and 13 for no child restraint.
