Mike Malone

VIDALIA — Services for Mike Malone, 62, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at Natchez Community Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Vidalia Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber and the Rev. Louis Sklar officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mike was born April 20, 1948, in McComb, the son of Francis Leo Malone and Alma Lee Allen Malone. He attended Vidalia Presbyterian Church. He was past president of the Natchez Civitan Club and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army.
Mike retired after 30 years in the banking industry, having been employed by Britton & Koontz Bank for 25 years and five years by United Mississippi Bank.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Pat Malone.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia W. Malone; two daughters, Alicia Rankin Hughes and husband, Keith, of Little Rock, Ark., and Amy Rankin Byrne and husband, Patrick, of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren, Lucie Hughes, Henry Hughes, Beatrice Byrne and Francis Byrne; one goddaughter, Brooke Sullivan of Natchez; two brothers, Mitch Malone of Meridian and Mark Malone of Brookhaven; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Will Heirtzler, Jake Heirtzler, Andrew Malone, Jeff Thompson, Luke Janette, Joel Misita, Phillip Zuccaro and Jimmy Whitehead.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Vidalia Presbyterian Church.
