Happy New Year, Miss-Lou!
We’ve said farewell to 2010, and are looking forward to a great new week and a great new year.
But since we are all likely to date a few checks 2010, let’s take a few minutes to look back at that last week of the last year.
The week between Christmas and New Year’s is always a slow, relaxing one. We hope you enjoyed spending time with friends, family or perhaps your couch.
A few of you participated or helped make a few headlines though.
Congratulations to April Sanders and Stanton McHale on the birth of their daughter, Savannah Lynn, on New Year’s Day. Savannah was baby New Year in the Miss-Lou, and we know her family is going to enjoy these special days with her.
The Vidalia Conference and Convention Center and the Natchez Convention Center hosted New Year’s Eve parties Friday night and Saturday morning. Both saw good crowds and plenty of fun. We are glad our community offers a place for a good party.
Bird watchers dispersed Saturday for the Christmas Bird Count. The group was recording data for the National Audubon Society.
As we begin the first full week of 2011, we have many hopes and dreams for the New Year. It takes a community of great thinkers, great doers and great people to see progress. Luckily the Miss-Lou has all three types of people.
