FERRIDAY — A grass fire at the intersection of U.S. 84 and Louisiana 3232 reportedly caused a small tire fire that led to smoke filling Concordia Parish skies Friday afternoon.
Concordia Fire District No. 2 Chief Nolan Cothren said residents were cutting up old oil tanks and the grass caught fire.
Cothren said the people cutting the tanks could not see over the top of them, which led to the grass fire setting old tires on fire causing smoke to fill the sky.
Cothren said the fire was put out promptly, and that no damage was done.
