LIBERTY — A one-car accident on Mississippi 569 left a Liberty man dead early Thursday morning.

Dane A. Schneckloth, 24, 504 Blalock Circle, Liberty, was driving south in a 2000 Honda Civic when he apparently left the roadway, a Mississippi Highway Patrol press release said.

The driver over-corrected, ran back across both lanes and off the left side of the roadway, striking trees and overturning.

The accident occurred at approximately 1:35 a.m., one half mile north of Clark Road.

Schneckloth was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
