LIBERTY (AP) — The Mississippi Highway Patrol says a 24-year-old Liberty man died in a one-car accident in Amite County.

Investigators tell the Enterprise-Journal that Dane A. Schneckloth was southbound on Highway 569 south of Liberty on Thursday when he left the right side of the road.

Authorities say Schneckloth apparently overcorrected his vehicle, crossed both lanes and ran off the left side of road, striking trees and overturning.

Schneckloth was pronounced dead at the scene.
