Man charged in teen’s rape

FERRIDAY — A 47-year-old Waterproof man was arrested on charges of rape Thursday after he allegedly forced a teenage girl to have intercourse with him Jan. 15.

Leroy Williams, 3246 Louisiana 576, was charged with forcible rape by the Ferriday Police Department for the incident involving a 15-year-old girl.

FPD Assistant Chief Johnny Evans said Williams allegedly went into the girl’s bedroom, held her down and forced her to have intercourse with him.

Evans said after investigating the case for more than a week, the department had enough evidence to make an arrest on Williams.

Williams is currently in custody at the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility, where he will remain until the case goes to court.

There is currently no bond set for Williams.
