Robert Edward “Buddy” Waldrop

Nov. 18, 1980 – Jan. 25, 2011

NATCHEZ — Services for Robert Edward “Buddy” Waldrop, 30, of Brookhaven, who died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, in Brookhaven, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Assumption Catholic Church with the Rev. David O’Connor and the Rev. Mike O’Brien officiating. Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Waldrop was born Jan. 18, 1980, in Baytown, Texas, the son of Robert Evette and Julie Evelyn Magee Waldrop. Buddy was an Eagle Scout in troop No. 157 under Dr. Charles Borum. He was a journeyman electrician for Rowan Drilling Company. Waldrop was a member of the Catholic faith and a loving father and husband. He graduated with honors from Adams County Christian School and Southwest Mississippi Community College. He was a member of IBEW Local 480 union.

Waldrop was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, E. A. and Ronnie Waldrop; maternal grandparents, Wesley and Bertie Magee brother, Robert Evette Waldrop; and aunt, Margie Vaillencount.

Survivors include wife Nicole Waldrop; his parents; son, Robert Joseph; daughter, Hailey Elizabeth; brother Steve Waldrop, all of Brookhaven; in laws, Ronald and Alise Meche of Bogue Chitto; aunts and uncles, Lola Nebel of Butler, Penn, Howard Magee and wife Betty of Ocean Springs and Dicky Waldrop of Emory, Texas; and nephews and nieces, Wesley Waldrop of Tokyo, Japan, and Lauren Waldrop of New Hebron, Wis.

Pallbearers will be Eagle Scouts and friends Jason Tyson, Jason Jordan, Elliot Green, Lee Best, Allen Whittington and John Borum.

Honorary pallbearners will be John Wilkinson, Danny Edwards and Dr. Charles Borum.
