Share love, jazz for Valentine’s Day

Celebrate a romantic evening with your valentine!

The Natchez Festival of Music Guild invites you to a Valentine Gala, “Love … And All That Jazz,” honoring Reuben “Buzz” Harper, one of our founding directors. The gala will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day at the Arrighi Mansion, the home of Dr. Brad and Sherri LeMay at 700 Orleans St.

Music will be provided by Jazz LTD of Natchez, consisting of Donna Schaffer, vocalist and piano; Terry Trovato, percussion; and Tim McGivaren, bass.

Special Guests will include festival stars Erin Murphy, Kimberley Bentley, Laura Pedersen and Will Earl Spanheimer, who are coming to honor Buzz, who is battling cancer, with their love songs.

There will be very elegant refreshments and a cash bar, featuring Valentine champagne.

There is something for everyone among the fabulous items in our live auction, including, a week in Bobbie and Bill Henley’s luxury three bedroom/three bath condo at Orange Beach, Ala.; a bridge luncheon for four at Uptown Grocery; take home Chef Bingo Starr, who will prepare food which you provide for up to 12 people; a fantastic weekend as guests of David and Marjorie Feltus Hawkins for the Steeplechase in Nashville; Sunday brunch buffet for four at The Vue; a gift certificate at Katie’s Ladies; a Cochon de Lait prepared by Merkel DuPuy and his Cajun crew from Marksville, La.; lunch for two at Cotton Alley; a romantic getaway at Monmouth; dinner for four at Pearl Street Pasta; a scholarship for Kathleen Mackey King’s summer children’s music camp; bridge and lunch for eight prepared by Regina Charboneau at Twin Oaks; a week in the five-bedroom house of Richard and Lynn James Leet in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, complete with a cook, a housekeeper and a gardner; sponsorship of “Always…Patsy Cline” with 10 tickets; and a weekend at Marcia McCollough’s “Evergreen,” a two bedroom B&B house at 30 Cemetery Road.

Limited tickets are available for “Love…And All That Jazz” with a deadline for ticket purchases of Feb. 10.
