Arella Bacon

NATCHEZ — Services for Arella Bacon, 69, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at Ochsner Hospital in Baton Rouge, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Jerusalem Baptist Church No. 2 in Kingston with the Rev. Willie Anderson officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Hall Davis and Sons Funeral Home in Baton Rouge.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Bacon was born in Wilkinson County, the daughter of Joseph and Martha Granger. She was a retired teacher. She was an active leader in 4-H, Ruritan and Keep America Beautiful.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Joseph Granger; and two sisters, Viola Chatman and Helen Hayes.
Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda Thigpen, M.D., and husband, Michael; one son, George Bacon Jr.; and one brother, Alonzo Granger and wife, Marie.
