VIDALIA — Services for Davelyn Goodfellow Taylor, 85, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at Promise Specialty Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia with the Rev. Jeff Brewer officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Taylor was born Jan. 5, 1926, in Atchafalaya, La., the daughter of David Warren Goodfellow Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Goodfellow. She was a retired librarian.

Mrs. Taylor was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Natchez, a hospital volunteer, nursing home volunteer and had worked with the prison ministry Bible study group in Evansville, Ind., before moving to Natchez in 1994.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll J. Taylor; her parents; one sister, Bertha Arnold; and two brothers, David Warren Goodfellow Jr. and Carl Raymond Goodfellow.

Survivors include two sons, Scott and Bob; five sisters, Mildred Ricketts of Bowling Green, Ky., Agnes Bowie, Elizabeth Ann Wallace and Billie Jeanne McLeod, all of Natchez, and June West of Meadville; and one brother, Harry Goodfellow of St. Francisville, La.

Pallbearers will be Harry Goodfellow, Lamar Goodfellow, Austin Goodfellow, Danny McLeod, Kam Berryhill, John Hughes and Paul Dawes.
