NATCHEZ — Mississippi Department of Transportation officials say Larry L. “Butch” Brown has been terminated from his job.

Brown was reportedly faxed a resignation form, but did not return it by the 5 p.m. Wednesday deadline.

Brown, who is in Houston, Texas, receiving treatments at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center said he spent the entire day Wednesday at the hospital and did not see the faxed letter — which was sent to his hotel room — until approximately 6:30 p.m.
