Howard Doss

FAYETTE — Services for Howard E. “Poochie” Doss, 38, of Stampley, who died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home in Fayette.

Mr. Doss was born Aug. 24, 1972, in Fayette, the son of Laura Lee Doss and Howard Norton. He attended Jefferson County School and grew up in the Stampley community where he was a guest and friend in everyone’s home.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Arthur Norton, Albert Curtis Norton and Herbert Norton.

Survivors include two loving and devoted sisters, Josie Marie Doss and Maxine Doss and Bennie Nix, all of Fayette; two brothers, Stanley Doss of Fayette and Mark Doss of Natchez; two aunts, Lovie Doss of Fayette and Elouise Doss of Baton Rouge; and a number of nieces and nephews to treasure a number of fun-filled memories.

Pallbearers will be Ed Felton, Keith Gaines, Jimmy Green, Oliver Hawkins, Charles E. Lee and Willie Nichols.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jawaski Doss, Jerome Doss, Mark Doss, Jerry Lynn Doss, Stanley Doss, Arthur Norton and Jeffery Norton.
