NATCHEZ — Security officers at the Isle of Capri Hotel alerted three different guests their cars were broken into sometime between Thursday evening and before Friday morning.
A Natchez police report of a burglary of a vehicle made at 7 a.m. said a Pioneer Satellite Radio was stolen from a car in the parking lot. The suspect entered the car through an unlocked door.
A malicious mischief report made at 7:30 a.m. said a driver’s side back window of a car was shattered on another car in the hotel parking lot, but nothing was reported stolen.
A malicious mischief/burglary of a vehicle report made at 8:16 a.m. said a passenger window on a third car in the parking lot was broken and a Pioneer Satellite Radio was stolen.
Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said police believe the same suspect or group of suspects committed the burglaries.
The burglaries are under active investigation, he said.
“I want to encourage (residents) not to leave valuables in plain view in a vehicle,” Mullins said.
