GLOSTER — Services for Glenn Allen Rushing, 74, of Amite County, who died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stacy McCollum officiating.

Burial will follow at Roseland Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home in Gloster.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mr. Rushing was born Sept. 17, 1936, in Amite County, the son of Elisha C. Rushing Sr. and Cepha Anders Rushing. He was a successful business owner and operator for 45 years of Rushing’s T.V. Sales and Service in Gloster. Mr. Rushing was also a successful private cattle farmer which he was proud of.

He enjoyed his grandchildren, family and friends, along with farming and overseeing his cattle.

Mr. Rushing was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Elisha C. Rushing Jr.; and an infant sister.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Hathaway Rushing; three sons, Richard A. Rushing and wife, Sandy B., Christopher G. Rushing and wife, Victoria S., and Tommy L. Rushing and wife, Sandy W., all of Gloster; one brother, William Rushing of Gloster; one sister, Doris Poole and husband, Stennis, of Centreville; five grandchildren, Rebecca and Justin Rushing, Amber, Emily and Jake Rushing; one step-grandchild, Christina McKey.
