Trinity girls fall to Delta Academy in double overtime, boys lose to Greenville Christian

BENTON — The Trinity Episcopal girls took Delta Academy to double overtime, but fell just short 39-37 Saturday in the MAIS Class A girls state championship game at Benton Academy.

The game was tied 31-31 at the end of regulation and 35-35 at the end of the first overtime period.

Junior Bethany Ogden led the Lady Saints with 22 points. Madelyn Cross tallied 10 points, Abbey Ashmore scored three points and Margaret Ward had two points.

Trinity ended its season with a 28-9 record.

The Trinity boys lost to Greenville Christian Academy 54-53 Saturday evening in the Class A boys state championship game. The Saints finished with a 29-6 record.
