BATON ROUGE (AP) — Shirley Bowens bought a Louisiana Lotto ticket for the first time this month and it turned out to be the sole winner of the $997,391 jackpot from the Feb. 16 drawing.

The Louisiana Lottery said Tuesday that Bowens, of Jena, claimed her prize Friday.

and received $698,173 after state and federal taxes were withheld. Bowens didn’t say what she planned to do with the money.

The 59-year-old Bowens purchased the ticket from Airport Grocery on Highway 8 in Jena. Lottery officials say the store will get 1 percent of the prize, $9,973, for selling the winning ticket.

The numbers for the drawing were: 3, 5, 12, 13, 30 and 39.
