NATCHEZ — Services for Arnetta Barnes, 72, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bright Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Ford officiating.

Burial will follow at Mercy Seat Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Barnes was born July 13, 1938, in Natchez, the daughter of Frank Blanton and Julia Hampton Blanton. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Barnes was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Elbert Barnes.

Survivors include four children, Jimmy Blanton, Freddie Blanton, Shelly Fleming and husband, James, all of Natchez, and Carolyn Woods and husband, Harvey, of Lafayette, La.; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Alberta Hargraves and husband, the Rev. Jim Hargraves, Celia Banks, Claudine Jones and Ruthie Tucker, all of Natchez; four brothers, Roosevelt Blanton and wife, Lena, Marion Blanton and wife, Hannah, Richard Blanton and Ronald Blanton, all of Natchez; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
