NATCHEZ — Services for George Edward “Gilbert” Jackson, 52, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. today at Murray’s Temple Church of God in Christ.
Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. Jackson was born July 28, 1958, in Crosby, the son of Mack Henry and Everline Puckett Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, James White.
Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Rochell Jackson; his mother; one daughter, Sandra Bishop and husband, L.S., of Brandon; two sons, George Edward Jackson Jr. of Oxford and Eric Jackson of Natchez; one stepdaughter, Takeisha Owens; two stepsons, Cedric Owens and Dale Owens, all of Natchez; five sisters, Alice Sykes and husband, Lawrence, of Rialto, Calif., Maxine Railey, Berniece Walker and husband, Henry, all of Southhaven, Carolyn Washington and husband, Larry, and Pat Logan and husband, Kenneth, all of Natchez; two brothers, John Jackson and wife, Monzell, of Tuscon, Ariz., and Leonard Jackson of Natchez; fathers-in-law, Robert Davis and wife, Dorothy, and Johnny Thompson; four sisters-in-law, Sandra Wells, Jackaueline Hawkins and husband, Irvin, Bertha White and Tammy Davis, all of Natchez; three brothers-in-law, Johnny Thompson and wife, Slyva, Danny Thompson and wife, Iola, and Eric Davis, all of Natchez; a special grandchild, TaKeria Washington; a special godchild, Daffney McDaniel; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
