NATCHEZ — Services for Clara Naomi Matthews Simpson, 90, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. LeRoy White officiating.
Burial will follow at the Simpson Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Simpson was born Nov. 26, 1920, in Black River, La., the daughter of Harry and Leslie Matthews. She attended Marsblestone Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emile Simpson Sr.; four children, Camille Johnson, Emma Jean Simpson, Gloria Tillman and Claude Simpson; her parents; two sisters; and five brothers.
Survivors include seven children, Clarence Simpson and wife, Brenda, Clara Eason and husband, Glenn, Barbara Wade and husband, Michael, Emile Simpson Jr. and wife, Joyce, Dianne Simpson, Alvin Ray Simpson and wife, Regenia, and Wanda Sue Ridley; one brother, Harry Matthews Sr.; and three sisters, Bernice Matthews, Gloria Irvine and husband, Ardis, and Emma Hall and husband, Willard.
