NATCHEZ — Services for Hamilton B. “Ham” Nelson, 81, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at his residence, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Victor Stewart officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hamilton was born Oct. 28, 1929, in Natchez, the son of Hamilton B. Nelson Sr. and Myrtle Graves Nelson. He was retired owner of Nelson Amusement Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie M. Nelson; and two sisters, Dora Nelson Culpepper and Betty Nelson Leathwood.
Survivors include one son, F.W. “Bubba” Hein and wife, Dianne, of Vidalia; one daughter, Mary Hein of Natchez; two grandchildren, Vangi Williams and husband, Michael, of Natchez and Brandon Hein of Baton Rouge; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Charley Cupit of Natchez, McKinleigh, Morgan and Skyler Hein, all of Baton Rouge; one sister, Myrtle Ruth Nelson Shepherd of Collegdale, Tenn.; seven nieces and nephews, Barbara Hood, James Shepherd, Michael Shepherd, Nelson Shepherd, John David Shepherd, Patricia Culpepper Young and Rex Edward Leathwood; special friend, Otis Fleming; and devoted pet, Flippy.
Pallbearers will be Michael Williams, Otis Fleming, Brandon Hein, Jason Havard, Thomas Robb and Jimmy D. Hall.
