Little Fix Rig thankful for good year

The year 2010 was a magnificent year for us and the Little Fix Rig and we are happy to report that we have helped pet owners get their 513 cats and dogs fixed at our mobile spay/neuter clinic that was here in Natchez more than 13 months.

We could not have been this successful without the support of Rivergate Bowl, the Natchez Radio Group and the many wonderful volunteers who donated their precious time and talents to making the Little Fix Rig such a hit in Natchez.

We know the Little Fix Rig has made a difference in preventing thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens from being born without homes in your community. Although the Little Fix Rig has left Natchez, we haven’t forgotten there is still a great need for affordable spay and neuter services in your community.

To help those most in need of financial help with getting their pets fixed, Mississippi Spay and Neuter will be setting up a temporary subsidy fund with the hopes of receiving additional funding from your community for the Natchez voucher program.

For more details about the targeted voucher program, please call 866-901-7729.

Please remember 109,000 dogs and cats enter Mississippi shelters and 73,000 of those are put down each year.

So it is imperative we continue our battle to prevent unwanted and accidental litters of puppies and kittens from being born in Natchez and surrounding communities.

Pet overpopulation is like the Gulf oil spill; if you don’t stop the flow, you are never going to solve the problem.
