FERRIDAY – Services for the Rev. Paul Burress, 72, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at his residence, will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Ferriday Church of God.
Arrangements are under the direction of Young’s Community Memorial of Winnsboro, La.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Rev. Burress was born Dec. 25, 1938, in Waynesville, N.C., the son of Paul Willis Burress Sr. and Josephine Burress Perry.
He was the pastor of Ferriday Church of God.
Rev. Burress was preceded in death by his wife, Phillis C. Burress; his parents; and one son, Mark Wayne Burress.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Vinson Burress Sr. and wife, Patricia, of Scottsboro, Ala., and Phillip James Kent Burress of Tennessee; one daughter, Patricia Lynn Sibley and husband, Charles, of Vidalia; two sisters, Dot Hutson and husband, Jimmy, and Donna Craven and husband, Avon, all of Asheboro, N.C.; three grandsons, Paul Vinson Burress Jr. and Mark Phillip Michael Burress and wife, Jessica, all of Scottsboro and Mark Phillip Branum Burress of Alabama; one granddaughter, Hannah Micah Marie Burress of Alabama; one great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Terri Mae Burress of Scottsboro; one great-grandson, Sean Paul Burress of Scottsboro; three granddogs, Augustus Bryant Burress, Maggie Mae Sibley and Harley Sox Sibley; and a number of family and friends.
