FAYETTE — Services for Mable Hammitte Walker McDonald, 83, of Fayette, who died Saturday, March 19, 2011, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill No.1 Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. McDonald was born Feb. 24, 1928, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Abe and Annie Hall Hammitte.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her adoptive parents, Elmo and Pearla Hammitte; first husband, Louis Walker; second husband, Archie McDonald; one son, Melvin Walker; one son-in-law, Aaron Burgman Sr.; four sisters, four brothers, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two loving daughters, Emily Walker and Elizabeth Burgman Love and husband, Charlie; one son, Curlie Hammitte and wife, Marjorie; two sisters, Mary St. Ann and Henrietta Jones; five stepdaughters, Letha Davis and husband, Volley, Ruthie Stampley, Geraldine McDonald, Earnestine Scott and Rosie Pierce; three stepsons, Archie McDonald Jr., Hubert McDonald and Michael Devalt; one aunt, Mable McGee; three granddaughters, six grandsons, 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
