PERRYTOWN — Services for Tom Dock Shropshire, 55, of Natchez, who died Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church in Perrytown with the Rev. Earnest Ford Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 2 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Shropshire was born Feb. 13, 1956, in Natchez, the son of Dock and Gracie Shropshire.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lillie Shropshire; and one brother, Ernest Shropshire.

Survivors include one son, Christopher Shropshire; three daughters, Tomeka Blanton, April Blanton and Krystal Dunmore, all of Natchez; three sisters, Frankie Battiste, Dorothy Shropshire and Joyce Kirk, all of Natchez; three brothers, James Shropshire and wife, Barbara, Willie Shropshire and wife, Kytina, and Edward Shropshire and wife, Geraldine, all of Natchez; one goddaughter, Breanna Shropshire of Natchez; one godson, Damon Deal of Metairie, La.; like a brother, Charles Coach and wife, Debra; two devoted friends, Alphonse Christmas and Henry T. Smith; and five children that he raised as his own, Carl Lewis, Carlos Lewis, Latisha Lewis, Jeffery Blanton and Larry Blanton.
