NATCHEZ — A woman was arrested Tuesday after a Natchez Police Department officer found her sitting in an illegally parked minivan with the engine running and crystal meth and hydrocodone pills inside, an NPD report says.

The officer approached the open driver-side door of a maroon Dodge Caravan and reportedly discovered the drugs, a glass pipe and an envelope filled with $1,979 in cash.

The officer was dispatched at 4:51 p.m. to respond to a call about a woman possibly using narcotics in a van parked in a tow-away zone near the Isle of Capri Casino on Silver Street.

The suspect, Raven Lace Wilson, 28, 2020 Paraham Road, Jonesville, was charged with possession of methamphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substance other than marijuana, DUI — other substance and parking in a city tow-zone.

The report said the officer saw Wilson fidgeting in the center console, and when she realized the officer was standing at her open door, “She began to ramble about an incident that occurred at the Isle of Capri Casino that made no sense.”

Wilson again, “rambled aimlessly” and “fidgeted uncontrollably,” when the officer asked her for her driver’s license.

When the officer asked if there was anything in the car he should know about, Wilson reportedly told him she had a “meth pipe” in the car, the report says.

Wilson gave the officer permission to search her car before trying to hide the pipe and a bag of crystal meth outside the car, the report says.

Wilson failed a field sobriety test at the station and admitted she smoked crystal meth at 11 a.m. that day, the report says.

Wilson’s car was towed from the site, and the officer recovered 1.2 units of suspected crystal meth, one class pipe, the envelope with cash, an envelope with a Marlboro cigarette and a pill bottle with 16 Hydrocodeine pills.
