FERRIDAY — Services for Willie E. Pryor Sr., 81, of Ferriday, who died Friday, March 25, 2011, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La., will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rufus Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Michael Reed officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Pryor was born Sept. 11, 1929, in Ferriday, the son of Harvey and Mary Sisson Pryor.
Mr. Pryor served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from May 2, 1951 to May 6, 1953, earning an honorable discharge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and mother of his children, Irma Pryor; one stepson, Tyrone Dison; and one brother, Harvey Pryor Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Dison Pryor; six sons, Willie Pryor Jr., Costa Pryor, Michael Pryor, all of Ferriday, Grayland Pryor and wife, Jackie, of Flint, Mich., Donald Pryor and wife, Rita, of San Diego, Calif., and Shelton Pryor and wife, Barbara, of New Orleans; four daughters, Carol P. Smith, Sandra Gail Pryor and Kimberly Pryor, all of Ferriday, and Zina Pryor and Andrew Butler, both of Houston, Texas; two stepsons, Abraham Dison of Ferriday and Curtis Dison of Gateville, Texas; one sister-in-law, Emmalene C. Broom of Ferriday; one son-in-law, James A. Smith Sr., both of Ferriday; one nephew, Prince A. Broom of Atlanta; two godchildren, Shanequa N. Gleen of Alexandria, La., and Rochelle R. Evans of Natchitoches, La.; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
