William Henry Berdon III

NATCHEZ — Graveside services for William Henry Berdon III, 73, of Panama City, Fla., who died Sunday, April 3, 2011, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Natchez City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Berdon was born Dec. 31, 1937, in Natchez.

He was a retired technical director for Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation.

Mr. Berdon was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Rubye Berdon; daughter-in-law, Robin Berdon; and close cousin, Bert Gray.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Betty Eidt Berdon; three children, Leigh Berdon of Panama City, Bill Berdon of Martinez, Ga., and Martin Berdon and wife, Deneen, of Baton Rouge; four grandchildren, Sarah Berdon, Elizabeth Berdon, Amanda Berdon, and Matthew Berdon; one brother, Lawrence Berdon and wife, Jamie, of Baton Rouge.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 4001 W. 23rd Street, Suite C, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of William Berdon.
